to build. Well, Westchester has great bones. And the building has begun in earnest. By our rough count, more than 50 major real estate projects have been proposed, started, or recently completed in the county.
Ashruth Easwar has been selected for a prestigious professional opportunity that will enhance his leadership and management skills and help him have a greater positive impact on his community. As the winner of the 2015-2016 Westchester County Association Young Professionals Group Scholarship for Leadership Westchester, Easwar will participate in an intensive, nine-month program geared toward preparing today’s passionate professionals for tomorrow’s positions of influence.
For the past six weeks, 26 long-term unemployed individuals had a new reason to get up every morning, thanks to the WCA and the ‘Jobs Waiting’ program, a $9.8 million federal Ready to Work grant managed by the WCA. Known regionally as “Jobs Waiting,” the program provides specialized training and support services to 425 long-term unemployed individuals in the Hudson Valley. On Friday, the WCA hosted a graduation for its first ‘boot camp’ participants, some of whom already have job applications out and interviews lined up with top employers in the region.
With the information explosion, today’s employers demand of their employees – especially managers at all levels -greater familiarity with data analytics. So, it was not a surprise that when the Westchester County Association offered a five-week program in Healthcare Analytics last spring at its Hudson Valley Workforce Academy, the course sold-out quickly. The first class enrolled....
