CEO Magazine Survey Places State at Bottom of Heap

New York State: Give us your tired, your poor, your hungry, and your company's profits.
Business leaders were asked to grade their state in categories including "tax and regulation, quality of workforce and living environment." Once again, New York State was heaped at the bottom of the pile with California and Illinois.
States with a more competitive tax and regulatory climate fared quite well in this year's survey; North Carolina and Florida made the top three and Texas clinched the top spot for the eighth year in a row.
