New Rochelle Mayor Noam Bramson won the Democratic nomination for Westchester County Executive earlier this morning, defeating Legislator Bill Ryan and Ken Jenkins, chair, Westchester County Board of Legislators...
L-R: Robert P. Weisz, WCA Board Member; Mayor Noam Bramson, and Al DelBello, Chairman Emeritus, WCA
Interviewed by Newsday, Jay Leon, a Democrat from Ardsley said he leaned towards Bramson because "he hasn't been in the weeds of county government and those wars."
In a statement to his supporters, Noam Bramson said "competing for the nomination has been an extraordinary experience, and we can take a moment to savor our success - but not more than a moment, because now the really tough challenge begins. To bring positive change to Westchester, we must win in November, and I feel a deep sense of responsibility to justify the trust placed in me tonight."
Bramson went on to thank both Jenkins and Ryan for being strong competitors and their gracious support. Stay tuned for more from the Westchester County Association.
