  • EF Academy’s New 100-Acre Campus Brings New Jobs, New Students to Region

    The EF International Academy, a for-profit Swiss school, is the new owner of the Thornwood Conference Center, where it will welcome 800 new U.S. and international students next fall. The private, international boarding school, which will continue to operate its facility on the former Marymount College campus in Tarrytown, also will be hiring up to 100 new employees. Marissa Brett, president of the Westchester County Association, calls the repurposing of the conference center great news for Westchester.

  • School Affirms Westchester as Destination for International Community

    The EF International Academy has won approval from the town of Mt. Pleasant to open a second boarding school in Westchester—signifying that the campaign by the WCA’s BLUEPRINT for Westchester to attract international attention to the county is working.

    “We’re thrilled to see this expansion, and look forward to welcoming 800 additional students to Westchester,” said Marissa Brett, the WCA’s executive director of the BLUEPRINT initiative, driven by the private sector. “With our proximity to Manhattan, mass-transit network, and world-class art and culture, Westchester is a great place where people from all over the world can succeed.”
